Tri-County Human Services, Inc. – Prevention Department provides substance use prevention and education services throughout Polk, Highlands, and Hardee Counties. Our school-based prevention programs serve children and adolescents in grades K–12 by identifying risk factors, strengthening protective factors, and promoting healthy decision-making through evidence-based education and skill-building. Students may also receive referrals to appropriate community resources when needed.
In addition to our youth prevention efforts, we provide community-based prevention education for adults, families, and community members focused on reducing substance misuse and promoting healthy lifestyles. Our services include education on prescription medication misuse prevention, emphasizing the safe use, secure storage, and proper disposal of prescription medications to help protect individuals, families, and the community.
