Tri-County Human Services, Inc., in partnership with Blue Sky Communities and
Community Assisted and Supportive Living, Inc. (CASL), proudly announces the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Jersey Commons—an innovative, affordable 68-unit supportive housing development in Polk County.

The ceremony will take place on Monday, May 20th at 10:00 AM, at the Jersey Commons site located at: 2817 Jersey Rd NW, Winter Haven, FL 33881

Jersey Commons represents a significant step forward in addressing the critical need for affordable housing in the region. Backed by a $23 million investment, the development features 68 one- and two-bedroom units spread across three thoughtfully designed buildings, with amenities that promote resident well-being and community engagement.

Designed to serve some of Polk County’s most vulnerable residents, Jersey Commons will provide permanent supportive housing for at least fifteen high-need individuals—those who frequently utilize local mental health crisis units and the crisis detox unit in Bartow. Additional units have been set aside for individuals experiencing homelessness and those living with disabling conditions. A portion of the residences will also be available to individuals who do not require supportive services, creating an inclusive, mixed-residency model.

More than just housing, Jersey Commons will offer residents access to on-site primary care and behavioral health services, reducing reliance on emergency systems and enabling individuals to lead healthier, more independent lives. Residents will also benefit from a community room, fitness center, and coordinated residential services that help foster a stable and inclusive community.

With just over 11,000 applicants for the 68 units, the demand underscores the urgent need for this type of supportive housing in Polk County.

This forward-thinking project is the result of a powerful collaboration between Tri-County Human Services, Inc., CASL, and Blue Sky Communities, LLC—organizations with a proven track record in delivering impactful affordable housing and supportive services across Florida.

Local officials, community partners, and future residents will gather on May 20th to celebrate the opening of Jersey Commons and the promise it holds for individuals and families across Polk County.

Since formed in 1976, Tri-County Human Services has become the primary lead provider of DCF licensed substance use disorder and behavioral health services in Polk County, Florida. Tri-County maintains the only detox program for the Polk, Hardee, and Highlands County areas. Serving adults and adolescents in Polk County, Tri-County Human Services has one of the most integrated systems of care for the persons served in the State of Florida. From detox to residential, outpatient, and prevention services, and no wrong door for an individual to enter to gain access to treatment services. A Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) integrated behavioral health accredited agency since 1999, Tri-County ranks in the top two percent of all behavioral health providers in the United States.
