Heather Kaufmann has been with Tri-County Human Services, Inc. since 2001 and is the Administrative Director of Outpatient Programs.
She is responsible for overseeing all outpatient-based programs, including in-jail services, prevention services, integrated behavioral health program, child welfare programs, hospital bridge program, and the traditional outpatient services in Polk, Hardee, and Highlands Counties.
Heather began her career at Tri-County as an adolescent counselor and then moved on to become the program supervisor at our Lakeland Outpatient office. After many years supervising that unit, she became an outpatient manager for three years, where she oversaw 5 clinical programs in the agency. Once she transferred to the administrative offices, she filled a clinical director role overseeing special programs and the E.H.R. system and then served as the Corporate Compliance Officer for 2 years.
Over the years, Heather has conducted a variety of trainings in documentation, confidentiality, clinical practices, and compliance topics. She also does a variety of outside trainings and presentations and has worked with student interns from local colleges for many years.
Heather participates in several community committees and is a member of the Children’s and Business Divisions of the Florida Behavioral Health Association.
Heather is a proud graduate of the University of Florida where she earned her bachelors and master’s degrees in rehabilitation counseling. She became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in 2003 and currently enjoys supervising licensure interns.
