Detox is open 24/7 and offers medically supervised detoxification from all substances. Nurses and direct care staff are available to help individuals going through the withdrawal process. Medically supervised alcohol/drug detoxification is provided to adults residing in Hardee, Highlands, and Polk Counties. Detox is in Bartow on Highway 60. An individual’s length of stay is determined by the type of substance one is using. You can call and do a screening over the phone any time. The person who is wanting to admit to Detox, must make the call to do the screening.
In Detox, several services are provided:
- A nurse will do an assessment to make sure that you are medically stable.
- An evaluation to determine what your strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences are.
- Several papers are signed. Some will be releases so we can talk to involved individuals.
- A medical professional will do a Physical Assessment.
- A Treatment Plan will be developed with you.
- An evaluation will occur to determine the severity of withdrawals.
- Medication assisted treatment could be offered.
Detox Residential Level III: Residential Level III is a short-term transitional program to help move an individual back into the community and/or other treatment programs. It is also available for those who have completed detoxification yet lack stable housing as they await formal admission to a residential treatment setting.
In Detox Level III, these services are provided:
- A Treatment Plan will be developed with you to establish what you will address during this stay.
- A safe environment is provided to continue the recovery process.
- Group Counseling sessions.
- Individual sessions.
- Case Management.

The Florida Center is a 55-bed residential facility for adults with co-occurring substance abuse and psychiatric disorders. It is in Avon Park located at the rear of South Florida State College. The campus is lush and sprawls over several acres. The Florida Center serves all 67 counties in the State of Florida.
The Florida Center provides the following services:

- Mental Health Assessment

Residential Level II- 5-bed Program: The 5-Bed Male Substance Abuse Program is only for individuals presenting with a primary substance abuse related disorder. Individuals are acclimated to the Florida Center’s therapeutic community during the first week. Participants in the 5-Bed Program follow the same modalities as those in the Florida Center.
The Residential Level II – 5-bed Program offers the following services:

- Aftercare Planning
Residential Level III Florida Center: Residential Level III is a short-term transitional program to help the individual move back into the community and/or other treatment programs. The level III program is also used as a step down to begin the transition back to the community as appropriate.

- A Treatment Plan will be developed to establish what will be addressed during this stay.

The RASUW Center for Women is in Bartow, FL. on Highway 60. Women over the age of 18 residing in Polk, Highlands or Hardee County, Florida are eligible for admission. RASUW targets the needs of women who require substance abuse and co-occurring treatment. It is a highly structured ninety (90) day treatment program utilizing science-based techniques and strategies specifically designed to meet the needs of women.

New Beginning (located in Bartow, FL) is a residential transition treatment center which provides men with the necessary tools and life skills to re-enter their communities and maintain a lifestyle free from drugs and alcohol. The center also addresses any untreated mental health issues. The program is targeted to last 8-10 months.
The men will work through a 4-phase program guided by the therapeutic community model.
In New Beginning Men, the following services are offered. This model includes, but is not limited to, the preceding array of services:

The AGAPE House is a 10-bed, Residential Level III halfway house for women, with substance dependency disorders who are 18 years and older. AGAPE House serves Polk, Hardee, and Highlands Counties. The home is located Winter Haven, FL and provides its residents with easy access to community services, public transportation, and employment opportunities? The length of stay is usually 6 months.

The Transitional Living Facility, located in Lakeland, Florida, provides transitional housing for women and their children. The focus of this unit is on reunifying mothers and children and providing case management services so that newly reunified mothers have the support of someone who can help her navigate the trials of reunification and reentering the community. Average stay for most individuals is 6 months.
