COVID-19 Vaccination Infomation
Effective Monday, April 5, 2021 all Florida residents shall be eligible to receive any COVID-19 vaccine as prescribed by the Food and Drug Administration.
The Pfizer vaccine is authorized for persons 16 and up.
The Moderna and Janssen (Johnson and Johnson) vaccines are authorized for persons age 18 and up.
Florida has many sites providing COVID-19 vaccine free to residents. Use the vaccine finder to find a site near you. Supplies are limited and appointments may be required.

Highlands:
Starting at 1 p.m. Friday (April 2), the first 500 individuals who qualify will be able to get their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED at the county vaccine site (Lakeshore Mall-Old JC Penney). Go to bit.ly/HCvaccine to print the Moderna vaccine screening and consent form and fill it in ahead of time.

Publix
The online reservation system is open for appointments for the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.
- The online registration typically opens at 7 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Eligible individuals can access the online reservation system to make appointments as follows:
- Scheduling opportunity Monday for Wednesday – Friday appointments. Moderna vaccine.
- Scheduling opportunity Wednesday (except March 31) for Saturday – Sunday appointments. Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
- Scheduling opportunity Friday for Monday (except April 5) – Tuesday appointments. Moderna vaccine.
Publix vaccination appointments are scheduled online only through their website. Appointments cannot be made by calling Publix or Publix Pharmacy.
